Everything about this object
At just under 1,185 meters elevation, on a sunny hillside, stands this simple holiday home from 1947. Nestled between forest and wide meadows, with views over gentle hills far down into the valley.

The house offers 46 m² of living space with two rooms and, despite its modest comforts, is in good condition: The downhill-facing roof section has been renovated and insulated; the uphill-facing side is unrevised, but to date has given no cause for complaint.

The windows are modern, and two wood stoves provide cozy warmth on cooler days. A generous corner window in the dining area transforms the space into almost an observation pavilion – nature becomes part of living.

The interior is completely clad in wood and breathes the honest character of a true chalet: exposed beams, warm wood, simple furnishings. A covered veranda invites lingering in summer.

This house is not a classical holiday home. There is no electricity grid, no shower, and no sewage connection. Cooking is done on a small gas stove, supplemented by a hybrid refrigerator that can operate on either gas or electricity. A mobile gas heater is ready to use, as is a functioning generator that can be connected via cable to the outlet in the main room. Water comes from a rainwater cistern. For future use, we recommend installing a new tank to ensure impeccable water hygiene.

Several basic elements for a future solar installation are already in place: plugs, switches, indirect lighting behind panels in both rooms, as well as roof-mounted pipe supports for any future panels. With a solar system and a small battery storage (5–10 kWh), comfort could be noticeably enhanced.

Note on access:
The access road branches off from a farmhouse, running about 270 meters over a rough field track with some deep ruts in places. Then another approximately 230 meters across a passable meadow. A vehicle with high ground clearance and four-wheel drive is recommended. In wet conditions and winter, access is difficult or barely possible – the current owners were able to park their car at a nearby house in such cases.

The house has been owned by the same proprietor for 40 years, who is now selling due to age. A rare opportunity to take over a place that has been carefully preserved over decades.

The region:
Le Locle and the surrounding Jura highlands landscape are among Switzerland's most beautiful areas. The Doubs, which forms the border between Switzerland and France here, has carved out a spectacular gorge landscape. The famous Saut du Doubs – a 27-meter-high waterfall – as well as the reservoirs Lac des Brenets and Lac de Moron with their peaceful shores are nearby. Hiking trails, mountain bike routes, and cross-country ski trails in winter lead directly through this unspoiled natural landscape. Le Locle itself, a UNESCO World Heritage watchmaking town, is reachable in just a few minutes' drive.

This chalet is for people seeking the genuine – silence, sun, stars, and a retreat where time moves to a different measure.
